1.)   What is your vocation?

Robert: I am a Network Technician for a fiber optic telecommunications company based out of Columbia, SC.

Heather: I am a Sales Manager for a laboratory instrumentation manufacturer located in Matthews, NC.

2.)   Tell us about your family:

We are high school sweethearts and will celebrate 11 years of marriage in May.  We have two beagles, Ally and Molly, who are spoiled rotten.

3.)   Who was the main human influence that lead you to a relationship with Christ?

Robert: My father led me to Christ through displaying acts of grace, living a life of humility, constantly praying, and being patient in our home growing up.

Heather: My mom was most influential in leading me towards a relationship with Christ by constantly sharing the Gospel.  She volunteered in the children’s department at Catawba Baptist Church, where I was baptized at the age of nine, and taught backyard Bible studies in our home and at various apartment complexes in Rock Hill.

4.)   What is your favorite Bible Verse?

Robert: “I am the good shepherd, I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.”  John 10:14-15

Heather: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.  It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

5.)   What has the Lord been teaching you over the last 6 months?

Robert: Through visiting with the men at the warming shelter, God has shown me that I need to slow down to better care for people.

Heather: I’ve learned more about the Gospel through studying Colossians and the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith in Community Groups, through reading Joseph And The Gospel Of Many Colors by Voddie Baucham Jr., and through studying Romans with a sister in Christ.

6.)   What is something most people don’t know about you?

Robert:  I like to listen to oldies music and I always wash the dishes for my wife.

Heather:  I’m half German, but spricht kein Deutsch (speaks no German).  My father was adopted as an infant while my grandparents were stationed on a US military base in Germany.
